Assyrian Art
Assyria is the name of an ancient state located in northern Mesopotamia. This state was formed about four thousand years ago and lasted for one thousand three hundred and fifty years. This empire covers the lands of Phenicia, Palestine, Egypt, Babylon, Ilam and the western plateau of Iran He ruled until the Persian Gulf. In the year 600 The Medes and Babylonians defeated the Assyrians. The Assyrians are known for fighting, bloodshed, making weapons, masonry, building roads and posts. Their language had Sami roots and they wrote in cuneiform on stone and clay tablets.. Archaeologists have found a library in Nineveh containing 18,000 cuneiform tablets of stone and stone belonging to Assyrian Bani Paul..
