Mircha Eliade – Mythologist and theologian + book introduction
Mircha Eliade is a famous mythologist and religious scholar. He was born in Romania. In high school, he showed interest in studying chemistry and biology. At the age of seventeen, he learned English to study the book The Golden Bough by James Fraser. Then he started learning Italian, Arabic and Persian languages. After receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Bucharest, he went to India and studied Sanskrit and studied Eastern works, theology and mythology at Calcutta University.. He got a doctorate there and was invited to teach at the Sorbonne University. In 1952, he published his collection of conversations with Carl Jung. Eliade died in 1986.
