Zahhak Castle, Azerbaijan
This castle is in 28 It is located one kilometer south of Hashtroud, above the Tehran-Tabriz railway tunnel, between the Qarangu and Shorchai rivers. According to the remains, the history of this castle dates from the second millennium BC to the Timurian period, and it was very prosperous during the Ashkanian period.. Zahhak Castle is the Dragon Castle of the Medes, and traces of the Urartian walls can be seen in it.. The observation towers of the castle are still intact.
