Familiarity with Borzoyeh physician

This is what Barzoye Tabib, the first physician of Pars, says that my father was from the army and my mother was from the family of Zoroastrian scholars..

Borzowieh, a famous physician and the leader of Iranian doctors in the age of Khosrow Anushirvan Sassanid, was the compiler of Kalila and Demeneh and probably the translator of Panje Tantra from Sanskrit to Pahlavi which forms a part of Kalileah and Demeneh..

This name comes in the form of Borzavi in Middle Persian, made of two components "Borz" which means "high rank" and the endearing suffix "Ovi", and in Old Persian it is in the form of Borzaviya (Brz-he came) Come.

The biography of a doctor in Kalila and Demeneh

This is what Barzoye Tabib, the first physician of Pars, says that my father was from the army and my mother was from the family of Zoroastrian scholars..

And the first blessing that the Almighty and Holy God bestowed on me was the friendship of my parents and their compassion for me, as I was excluded from my brothers and sisters, and it became special for further education and refinement.. And when I reached the age of seven, they restricted me to study science and medicine. And as soon as I got to know its merits, I tried to learn it with sincere desire and overwhelming greed, until I gained a reputation for it and was exposed to the treatment of patients..

Then I saved my soul among the four tasks that the worldly people cannot overcome: Abundance of wealth and present pleasures, and mention of others and remaining rewards. And it should not be hidden that the science of medicine is praised by all wise people and in all religions.

And it has been stated in the books that the most virtuous physician is to take care of the treatment in order to save the hereafter, that the use of this character will be more perfect in this world and the salvation of the future will be spared, just as the purpose of the farmer in scattering the seeds is to be his strength. , but the straw, which is the star grass, will also be produced accordingly. Among other things, I finished my luck and wherever I found a patient in whom there was a hope of recovery, I took care of his treatment according to my needs. (For God's pleasure and without greed or reward) And when some time passed and I saw a group of people like me in wealth and power over their former self, the soul became interested in it, and the desire for the status of this world began to pass away, and it came close to losing its footing.. I said to myself: "O breath! You don't distinguish between your benefits and harm, and how can a wise person desire something in his heart that has many sufferings and consequences and little benefit and enjoyment? And if at the end of the work and migration to the grave you have the obligatory thought of healing, the greed of this mortal world will be fulfilled..

And a stronger reason to leave the world is the participation of this bunch of helpless people who are proud of it. Get over this wrong thinking and don't blame the effort on acquiring the reward, which is a dangerous path and disagreeable companions and death is "near and while moving". (to death) unknown… It is more appropriate for you to take care of the treatment and do not indulge in the fact that people do not appreciate the doctor, but consider that if there is success and a person is rescued from the clutches of hardship, the forgiveness will be strengthened. Where people are deprived of the enjoyment of water and bread and the companionship of their spouses and children, and are afflicted with chronic causes and fatal pains, if continuous effort is made in treating them and their health and modesty are not compromised, the amount of charity and its rewards will be great. Who can be recognized? Because I exaggerated my self-contradiction at this time, I returned to the right path and treated the sick with my honest desire and selflessness, and I spent my days in it until the doors of the day opened for me..

Borzavieh works

Dr. Cyril Elgood writes about the doctor's profession: "Anushirvan's reign is remarkable in terms of the translations that were done in it.

During his time, the works of important Greek and Indian authors were translated into Persian, among them the books of Plato, Aristotle and Indian legends called Kalileh and Demeneh.. To prepare this latest work, Barzoye Tabib, who is called Bozorgmehr in Farsi, was secretly sent to India to get it at any cost.. Barzoye Tabib is the only Sassanid physician who has complete information about him. It is a coincidence that his biography has also survived, because Ibn Muqafah included this description as an introduction in his translation of the Tales of Bidpai..

One of the other works of the doctor is to translate a Nesk called Panje Tantra from Sanskrit to Pahlavi.. Another book called Hikmat Handi, which was written in 1070 AD (462 AH) It is also known that it was translated from Tazi into Greek by Simeon Entaki from Berzoye.

Greetings and don't be tired to compile this story and writing. I wish you would use more Persian words to expand the Pari language. Maybe 50% of the words were greyhounds.
