The destruction of Susa petroglyph or the Assyrian petroglyph of Banipal is one of the ancient works that was created on the occasion of the victory of the Assyrians over the Elamites in 647 BC.. This is stated in a part of the Assyrian inscription of Banipal, which was written on the occasion of the destruction of the city of Susa:
I, Susa, opened the great and holy city to the will of the gods of Assyria. I entered the palaces of Susa's temple and looted everything that was abundant in wire and gold.. I broke all the bricks of the Susa ziggurat decorated with lapis lazuli. I razed all the temples of Elam to the ground, turned the city of Shush into ruins, and sprinkled salt on its land.. I captured all the girls and women. From now on, no one will hear the joy of the people and the hooting of horses in Elam.
