Yadgar Zariran is a tragic epic and chronicle that survived from the Sassanid period and is based on an ancient and original writing from the Parthian period.. Therefore, the historical roots of the traditional Sognak show that has reached us today existed before Islam. With the passage of time and the changes that came from the mourners and simulators of every age, simulations emerged in the show and with the historical and ritual event of Ashura, this type of show reached its peak in the Safavid era.. That is, the evolutionary course and pattern similar to the reading of the mourning that was commemorated by Siavash and Pahlavan-nameh of Zariran began and started with the death of Imam Hossein. (One of the leaders of the Shiites) And the Ashura event has continued. The story of Zarir, the hero of Yadgar Zariran, is remarkably similar to the story of Imam Hussein's brother Abbas in the plain of Karbala. This book has been one of the sources of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh.
Malek al-Shaarai Bahar and Sadegh Hedayat have also worked on translating this text into modern Persian.
