Arsham inscription stone(Achaemenids)
Arsham, the grandfather of Darius I, has an inscription on gold in Hamedan. It is not clear whether this inscription is his own or was made for him later.. Arsham was alive in 520 BC because Darius mentioned this in the Susa inscription….
Arsham had three sons and we know two of them now. Heshtasep, father of Darius I, and Ferneke, uncle of Darius I and treasurer . The Arsham Tablet was discovered in Hamadan in 1945. Arsham, the great king of the Shahs of Pars, the son of Aryarmene, an Achaemenid. Shah Arsham says : The great god Ahura Mazda made me king. He gave me the land of Persia with good people and good horses. Thanks to Ahura Mazda I kept this land..
