Esther and Haman

The first chapter

In the days of Akhshurush (These things happened) *

This is Akhshurash, who ruled over one hundred and twenty-seven provinces from India to Abyssinia *

In those days when Achshuresh the king was sitting on his throne in Shushan's palace. *

In the third year of his reign, he held a banquet for his servants and servants, and Heshmat Fars and Madi were among the governors and governors of the provinces in his presence. *

So, for a long period of one hundred and eighty days, the wealth of his kingdom showed the glory of his majesty and the majesty of his majesty *

So, after the expiration of those days, the king held a seven-day feast in the garden of the king's palace for all those who were born and raised in Dar al-Sultaneh Shoshan. *

The curtains were made of white linen and azure with white and purple strings in silver rings on white marble columns, and the gold and silver beds were on a stone, sumac, white marble and black marble pavement. *

And drinking was done from gold vessels, and the vessels were of various shapes, and royal wines were abundant according to the king's taste. *

And drinking was according to the law that no one imposed on anyone because the king had given such an order to all the elders of his house that everyone should do according to their own will.

And Queen Vashti also held a banquet for the women of Khosrow's house, King Ahasuerus. *

On the seventh day, when the king's heart was satisfied with the wine, he ordered the seven eunuchs, Mahoman, Bezta, Harbuna, Baghta, Baghta, Vabaghta, Zaatar, and Karkasara, who were serving in the presence of Akhshur, the king. *

that Queen Vashti be brought to the presence of the king with a royal crown to show her beauty to the creatures and lords because she was a beautiful sight *

But Queen Vashti did not want to come according to the order sent by the king by the hand of Khwaja Sarayan, so the king became very angry and his anger burned in his heart. *

Then the king spoke to the sages who knew about the times (Because this was the king's habit with all those who were knowledgeable about Sharia and rules *

And his close associates were Karshana, Shitar, Admata, Tarshish, Mars, Marsana, and Mamoukan, the seven chiefs of Persia and Media, who looked after the king and sat in the first rank in the country.)*

He said that according to Sharia, what should be done to Vashti the queen, because she did not follow the order that the king had sent to the eunuchs. *

Then Mamoukan told the presence of the king and the lords that Queen Vashti had not only wronged the king but also all the chiefs and all the clans who are kings in all the provinces of Akhshur. *

Because when this act of the queen becomes known to all the women, then their husbands will be humiliated in their eyes, when they will be informed that the king Akhshur has ordered to bring the queen Vashti to his presence and she has not come. *

And at that time, the ladies of Persia and Media, who will hear this act of the queen, will say this to all the heads of the king, and this case will be greatly despised and angered. *

Therefore, if the king deems it expedient, the royal decree should be issued in his presence and recorded in the laws of Persia and Media, so that Vashti does not come to the presence of another king, and the king gives his royal rank to someone who is better than him. *

And when the decree issued by the king is heard in all his great kingdom, then all the women will respect their husbands, big and small. *

And this word was liked by the king and the chiefs, and the king acted according to the words of the people *

And he sent letters to all the governorates of the king, to each governorate according to its script and to the people according to his language, so that every man can master it in his home and read it in the language of his people. *

The second chapter

After these events, when the anger of the king subsided, Vashti remembered what he had done and the verdict that had been issued against him. *

And the attendants of the king who served him said that the virgin daughters of Niko Manzar wanted for the king *

And the king should order lawyers in all the provinces of his country to gather all the virgin girls of Niko Manzar to Dar al-Sultaneh of Shushan in the women's house under Hijai, who is the eunuch of the king and the protector of women, and they should be given the means of purification. *

And the girl whom the king likes should become the queen in Vashti's place *

So this word was liked by the king and he acted as well *

There was a Jewish person in Shushan Darul Sultanah who was named Mordechai Ibn Yair Ibn Shami Ibn Qays Benyamini*

And he was exiled from Jerusalem with the captives who were exiled with Jeconiah, the king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had taken captive. *

And he brought up Hedse, that is, Esther, his cousin's daughter, because she had no parents, and that girl had a good face and good looks, and after the death of her parents, Mordecai took her as his daughter. *

So when the king's command and order was spread and many girls gathered in the palace of Shushan under Hijai, Esther was also brought to the king's house under Hijai, who was reserved for women.

And that girl seemed to be pleasing to him and found favor in his presence, so he soon gave her the means of purification and her gifts, as well as the seven maids who were chosen from the king's house to be given to her, and she was sent to the best house with her maids. Women narrated *

And Esther did not reveal her ethnicity and kinship because Mordecai had ordered her not to *

And Mordecai went around the courtyard of the women's house day after day to find out about Esther's condition and what would happen to her.

And when it was the turn of each girl to enter the king's house, that is, after that, what was customary for women to be done for twelve months, because the days of their purification ended in this way, that is, six months with myrrh oil and six months. Moon for perfumes and women's purification tools*

Then that girl would enter the king in such a way that they would give her whatever she wanted, so that she could take it with her from the women's house to the king's house.

He would enter at dinner time and sometimes in the morning he would return to the second house of the women under Shaashghaz, who was the king's eunuch and protector of the Mutahs, and he would not enter the king's presence again unless the king was attracted to him and called him by name. *

And when it was the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail, Mordecai's uncle, who had taken her in place of his own daughter, to enter the king's presence, she did not ask for anything except what Hijai, the king's eunuch and guardian of women, had said, and Esther was admired by everyone who saw her. *

So they brought Esther to King Ahasuerus in his royal palace in the tenth month, which is the month of Taybit, in the seventh year of his reign. *

And the king loved Esther more than all the women, and he found favors and favors more than all the maidens in her presence, so he put the royal crown on her and made her the queen in Vashti's place. *

And the king held a huge feast, the feast of Esther, for all his chiefs and servants, and he gave gifts to the provinces according to his royal generosity. *

And when the maidens gathered again, Mordecai was sitting at the king's gate *

And Esther had not yet revealed her kinship and ethnicity according to what Mordecai had ordered her because Esther was following Mordecai's order as when she was being educated by him. *

In those days, while Mordechai was sitting at the king's gate, two people, the king's eunuchs and the guardians of Astana, namely Baghtan and Tarash, became angry and wanted to lay hands on the king's hands. *

And when Mordecai found out about this, he informed Queen Esther and Esther informed the king through Mordecai's words.

So he investigated this matter and found it to be true, and both of them were hanged, and this story was recorded in the book of Chronicles of the Ages in the presence of the king.

The third chapter

After these events, Akhshurash gave king Haman bin Hamadatai Ajaji greatness and raised him to a high rank and placed him higher than all the chiefs who were with him.

And all the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down to Haman and worshiped him, because the king had given such an order about him, but Mordecai did not bow down and worship him.

And the king's servants, who were at the king's gate, asked Mordecai, why do you violate the king's order?

But even though they told him this day after day, he did not listen to them, so they informed us to see if Mordecai's words would be confirmed or not, because he had informed them that I am a Jew.

And when Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow down and worship him, Haman was filled with anger.

And since it was easy for him to lay hands on Mordecai alone and he had been informed about Mordecai's people, so Haman planned to destroy all the Jews who were in his entire kingdom, who were Mordecai's people.

In the first month of the twelfth year of Akhshur's reign, which is the month of Nisan, every day in the presence of Haman, and every month until the twelfth month, which is the month of Azar, they cast lots. *

So Haman said to Achshur, the king, there are people who are scattered and scattered among the people in all the provinces of your country, and their laws are against all the peoples and they do not follow the laws of the king, so it is not useful for the king to leave them like that.

If it pleases the king, let a decree be written to destroy them, and I will give ten thousand silver weights to the hands of the perpetrators to bring it to the king's treasury. *

Then the king removed his ring from his hand and gave it to Haman bin Hamadatai Ajaji, who was an enemy of the Jews.

And the king said to Haman, I have given you both the silver and the people, so that you may do with them whatever you like.

So the king's scribes were summoned on the thirteenth day of the first month, and according to what Haman ordered, the king's emirs and the governors who were in charge of every province and the heads of every nation were summoned.

It was written in the name of the king in the name of Akhshur and sealed with the seal of the king*

And letters were sent to all the governorates of the king by the hand of the horses to destroy all the Jews, young and old, children and women, on one day, the 13th of the twelfth month, which is the month of Azar, and kill them, destroy them, and loot their property.

And until this ruling is reached in all the provinces, written literacy was announced to all the tribes to be ready on the same day.

So the guards went out and hurried them according to the king's order, and this decree was enforced in the kingdom of Shushan, and the king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city of Shushan was confused.

The fourth chapter

And when Mordecai found out about everything that had happened, Mordecai tore his clothes and covered them with ashes and went out into the middle of the city and cried bitterly.

And he came to the front of the king's gate, because it was not permissible for anyone to enter the king's gate wearing a fancy dress.

And in every province to which the king's decree reached, the Jews were in great mourning, fasting, weeping and wailing, and many slept in sackcloth and ashes.

So Esther's maids and eunuchs came and informed her, and the queen was very sad and sent clothes to cover Mordecai and take his blessing from him, but he refused.

Then Esther called Hattak, who was one of the king's eunuchs and had appointed him to serve him, and ordered him to ask Mordecai what this was and what was the reason for it. *

So Hattak went out to Mordecai in the city gate which was in front of the king's gate *

And Mordecai informed him of everything that had happened to him and of the amount of silver that Haman had promised to give to the king's treasury in order to destroy the Jews.

And Sawad gave him the writing of the decree that had been issued in Shushan for their destruction, so that he could show it to Esther and inform her, and instruct her to go in to the king and beg him, and for the sake of her people. to request *

So Hatak went in and told Esther what Mordecai had said.

And Esther answered Hatak and ordered her to tell Mordecai.

that all the servants of the king and the inhabitants of the king's provinces know that for anyone, whether male or female, who enters the inner courtyard of the king without permission, there is only one sentence that he will be killed unless the king holds out a golden rod to him. live, and for thirty days I have not been summoned to enter the presence of the king*

So they told Mordecai what Esther had said.

And Mordecai said to Esther, "Don't think in your heart that you will be freed in the king's house unlike the rest of the Jews."

Rather, if you remain silent at this time, comfort and salvation will appear for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's family will perish, and who knows that he did not reach the throne because of such a time.

So Esther said, answer Mordecai.

Go and gather all the Jews who are found in Shushan and fast for me for three days and nights without eating or drinking, and I will also fast with my maidservants in the same way. I perished*

So Mordecai went and did according to what Esther had instructed him to do.

The fifth chapter

And on the third day, Esther, dressed in royal clothes, stood in front of the king's inner gate in front of the king's house, and the king was sitting on his throne in the royal palace facing the gate of the house.

And when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, he felt compassion in her eyes, and the king stretched out the golden scepter in his hand towards Esther, and Esther came close and touched the tip of the scepter.

And the king said to her, Esther, what has become of your queen and what is your request? Even if it is half of the country, it will be given to you.

Esther replied that if it pleases the king, the king will come with Haman today to the banquet I have prepared for him.

Then the king said to hurry Haman so that it will be done according to Esther's words, so the king and Haman came to the feast that Esther had prepared.

And the king said to Esther in the meeting of wine, what is your responsibility that will be given to you and which of your requests will be fulfilled even if it is half of the kingdom*

Esther replied, "My responsibility and request is this"

that if I find favor in the eyes of the king, and if the king deems it expedient to grant me responsibility and fulfill my request, the king and Haman should come to the banquet that I am preparing for them, and tomorrow I will fulfill the king's order*

So on that day, Haman went out happy and pleased, but when Haman saw Mordecai at the king's gate, who did not get up and move in his presence, then Haman became very angry with Mordecai.

But Haman refused and went to his house and called his friends and his wife Zarash *

And Haman told them the abundance of his wealth and the number of his sons and all the greatness that the king had given him and had made him superior to the other leaders and servants of the king.

And Haman said, Queen Esther did not invite anyone but me to the banquet she had arranged with the king, and tomorrow she has invited me with the king as well.

But all these things are nothing to me as long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. *

Then his wife Zarsh and all his friends told him that they should build a house fifty cubits high and in the morning tell the king that they should crucify Mordecai on it, then go to the feast with the king happily. They presented*

The sixth chapter

In that night, the king woke up and ordered to bring the book of the chronicles of the days to read it in the presence of the king.

And in it they found a writing that Mordecai had informed about Baghtan and Tarsh, the king's eunuchs and his gatekeepers, who had planned to lay hands on the king.

And the king asked what kind of respect and honor is in exchange for this (service) It was granted to Mordecai. The king's servants served him. They replied that nothing happened to him.

The king said in the courtyard (And Haman had come to the outer courtyard of the king's house to tell the king that Mordecai, whom he had prepared for him, should be crucified.)*

And the servants of the king said to him, Behold, Haman is standing in the courtyard. The king said to enter.

And when Haman entered, the king said to him what should be done with the one whom the king wishes to honor, and Haman thought in his heart, who else but me should the king wish to honor?

So Haman said to the king, for the person whom the king wishes to honor*

Bring the royal clothes that the king wears and the horse that the king rides on and the royal crown that is placed on his head*

And they should give the clothes and the horse to one of the king's closest officials and cover it with the person whom the king wishes to honor, and put a horse on the horse and take it through the streets of the city and call out in front of him that he will marry the person whom the king wants to honor. If he wishes to honor him, he will do so.

Then the king said to Haman, take the clothes and the horse in haste as you said, and do the same with Mordecai the Jew who is sitting at the king's gate, and let nothing be left out of what you said.

So Haman took the clothes and the horse and covered Mordecai and rode him through the streets of the city and shouted in front of him that he will do the same to the one whom the king wishes to honor.

And Mordecai returned to the king's gate, but Haman mourned and hurried to his house with his head covered. *

And Haman told his story to his wife Zarsh and all his friends, and his wise men and his wife Zarsh told him that if this Mordecai before whom you began to fall is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him, but you will certainly fall before him.

And they were still talking with him when the king's eunuchs arrived to hurry Haman to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

The seventh chapter

So the king and Haman came to Esther the queen for a feast.

And on the second day, the king said to Esther, O queen, what is your responsibility that will be given to you and what is your wish? Even if it is half of the country, it will be fulfilled.

Queen Esther answered and said, O king, if I have found favor in your eyes, and if it pleases the king, my life will be spared on my responsibility and my people on my request.

Because I and my people have been sold to perish and perish and if we were sold into slavery and handmaiden, we would keep silent, although our suffering is nothing compared to the loss of the king.

Then King Achshur addressed Queen Esther and said, "Who and where is she who dared to do such a thing?" *

Esther said that the enemy is the same wicked man. Then Haman trembled in the presence of the king and queen.

And the angry king got up from the meeting of wine and went to the garden of the palace, and when Haman saw that the calamity was prepared for him by the king, he stood up to plead with Esther the queen for his life.

And when the king returned from the garden of the palace to the wine hall, Haman was lying on the bed on which Esther was lying, so the king said, will he make the queen innocent in my presence in the house? The speech was still in the king's language when they covered our faces*

Then Harbuna, one of the eunuchs who were in the presence of the king, said, "Now, the fifty cubits that Haman prepared for Mordecai, who spoke that good word to the king, is now in Haman's house." . The king said to crucify him on it.

So they crucified Haman with the sword that he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king's anger subsided*

The eighth chapter

On that day, King Achshuresh offered the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, to Queen Esther, and Mordecai entered the king's presence because Esther had informed him of her relationship with him.

And the king took out his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai, and Esther placed Mordecai in Haman's house. *

And Esther once again spoke to the king and fell at his feet and wept and begged him to cancel Haman's wickedness and the plan he had made for the Jews.

So the king extended the golden cup to Esther, and Esther got up and stood before the king.

And he said, "If it pleases the king, and I have found favor in his presence, and if the king deems this right, and if I mean his opinion, then a letter should be written that the message that Haman bin Hamadatai Ajaji has prepared and they are for the destruction of the Jews who They are in all the provinces of the king, it is written to invalidate*

Because I could not see the calamity that befalls my people and I could not see the destruction of my relatives *

Then Achshuresh the king said to Esther the queen and Mordecai the Jew, I have given Haman's house to Esther, and they have hanged him because of lying to the Jews.

And write to the Jews what you like in the king's name and seal it with the king's seal, because whatever is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's seal, no one can change it. *

So at that hour, on the twenty-third day of the third month, which is the month of Sivan, they summoned the king's scribes and agreed to everything that Mordecai ordered to the Jews, the emirs, the governors, and the heads of the provinces, i.e. one hundred and twenty-seven provinces that were from India to Abyssinia. they wrote . To every province according to its script and to every nation according to its language and to the Jews according to their script and language *

And he wrote the letters in the name of Akhshur, the king, and sealed them with the king's seal, and sent them to the horsemen, and they rode on the greyhounds that were used for the king's service in the foals of his mares.

And in them, the king gave permission to the Jews who were in all the cities to gather and resist for their lives and destroy and kill all the strength of the tribes and provinces who wanted to harm them, along with their children and women. waste and loot their property*

On one day, the 13th of the twelfth month, which is the month of Azar, in all the provinces of the king *

And until this decree was delivered in all the provinces, written literacy was announced to all the peoples so that on the same day the Jews would be ready to take revenge on their enemies.

So the cattlemen were sent on the greyhound horses that were used for the king's service, and according to the king's order, they were hurriedly dispatched, and the order was enforced in the palace of Shushan.

And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in azure and white royal clothes and a large golden crown and a thin purple linen robe, and the city of Shushan rejoiced.

And for the Jews, light, joy, joy, and honor appeared*

And in all the provinces and all the cities and wherever the decree of the king came, there was joy and happiness for the Jews, and many peoples of the earth converted to the Jewish religion, because the fear of the Jews was taken over for them. *

insatiable door

And on the 13th day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, when it was almost time to implement the king's order and the enemies of the Jews were waiting to conquer them, it all turned out the other way around, and the Jews conquered their enemies.

And the Jews gathered in their cities in all the provinces of Achshurush the king to lay hands on those who wanted to harm them, and no one resisted them because their fear had taken over all the peoples.

And all the heads of provinces, governors, governors, and agents of the king of the Jews helped because the fear of Mordecai had taken over them.

Because Mordecai had been exalted in the king's house and his fame spread in all the provinces, and this Mordecai was getting bigger and bigger.

So the Jews killed all their enemies with the sword and destroyed them and did whatever they wanted with them. *

And the Jews killed five hundred people in Shushan's palace.

and Farshandata, Delphon, and Asfata*

and Furata, Adelia, and Eridata*

and Fermshna, Arbsay, Arbday and Yazana *

That is, they killed the ten sons of Haman bin Hamadata, the enemy of the Jews, but did not raise their hand to attack.

On that day, they presented the number of those who were killed in Dar al-Sultaneh of Shushan before the king *

And the king said to Esther the queen that the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred people and ten sons of Haman in the kingdom of Shoshan, so what did they do in the other provinces of the king? . Now, what is your responsibility that will be given to you and what other requests do you have that will be fulfilled?

Esther said that if it pleases the king, the Jews who are in Shushan will be allowed to do the same tomorrow as today's command and hang Haman's ten sons.

And the king said that it should be so, and the decree was enforced in Shushan, and Haman's ten sons were hanged.

And the Jews who were in Shoshan also gathered on the fourteenth day of Azar and killed three hundred people in Shoshan, but they did not lay hands on Taraj.

And the other Jews who were in the king's provinces gathered and resisted for their lives, and when they had killed seventy-seven thousand of their enemies, they found peace from their enemies, but they did not raise their hands to plunder.

This is on the 13th of Azar (located) And they found peace on the fourteenth day of the month and kept it as a day of peace and happiness.

And the Jews who were in Shushan gathered on the 13th and 14th of that month, and on the 15th day of the month they found peace and kept it as a day of joy and happiness.

Therefore, rural Jews who live in unfenced villages consider the fourteenth day of Adar as a day of joy and happiness and send gifts to each other.

And Mordecai wrote these things and sent the letters to all the Jews who were king in all the provinces near and far. *

to make it a duty for them to keep the 14th and 15th day of Azar as Eid every year*

Because in those days the Jews found peace from their enemies and in that month their sadness turned into joy and their mourning turned into a happy day, so they should keep them as days of joy and happiness and send gifts to each other and forgiveness to the poor.

So the Jews made what they had begun to do and what Mordecai had written to them a duty. *

Because Haman bin Hamadatai Ajaji, the enemy of all Jews, intended to destroy the Jews and had cast lots for their destruction and destruction.

But when this matter reached the king's ears, he ordered in writing that the evil plan he had planned for the Jew should be brought back upon himself, and he and his sons were hanged. *

For this reason, those days were called Furim from the name of Four. And agree with all the contents of these letters and what they themselves had seen in this matter and what had come to them*

The Jews made this a duty and took it upon themselves and their descendants and all those who are attached to them, so that it does not change, and they keep those two days according to their scriptures and their appointed time year after year. *

And those days should be remembered and observed in all classes, tribes, provinces, and cities, and these days of Furim should not be abolished from among the Jews, and their memory should not be destroyed from their descendants.

And Queen Esther, the daughter of Abihail and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with full authority to establish this second message about Furim.

And he sent letters containing words of safety and security to all the Jews who were in one hundred and twenty-seven provinces of his kingdom.

To make these two days of Furim an obligation at their appointed time, as Mordecai the Jew and Queen Esther made it an obligation for them, and they took it upon themselves and their descendants as a reminder of their days of fasting and supplication. *

So the customs of this festival were prescribed by Esther's order and recorded in the book.

Chapter Ten

And Akhshuresh, the king, will pay taxes on the lands and islands of the sea *

And all the deeds of his strength and ability and the details of the greatness of Mordecai, how the king made him great, are they not written in the book of chronicles of the days of the kings of Media and Persia?

Because Mordecai the Jew was the second king after Achshur and was respected among the Jews and accepted by his brothers, he sought the happiness of his people and spoke peaceful words to all the members of his race. *
