Similarities between Kuresh and Fereydoun

The most obvious similarity that can be found between Cyrus and Fereydon is their confrontation with people with almost the same name. Fereydon with Azhi Dehak (Multiplier: ضحاک) And Cyrus confronts Astiacus. As you can see, Azhi Dehak and Astyak are very similar and some people even called Azhi Dehak Azhdhak, which is more similar to Astyak.. But the similarity does not end here. Other similarities can be seen between these two, including in the stories.
The story of Fereydon's childhood in the Shahnameh has a strange similarity with the story that Herodotus tells about the childhood of Cyrus. In Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, it is said that Dhahak dreamed that a man attacked him and tied him up, and that man was Fereydoun.. For this reason, he ate and sleep was forbidden to him and he went to find Fereydoun. According to Herodotus, the story of Cyrus' childhood is like this: Astyak had a daughter named Mandana, and one night he dreamed that a vine grew from his daughter's womb and cast a shadow over Asia.. Astyak had already dreamed that his daughter's urine had turned into a plague that swept his capital and then the whole of Asia.. After he asked the dreamers about the interpretation of the dream, he planned to destroy Mandana's baby, which was Cyrus (Herodotus, book 1, paragraphs 107 and 108). As can be seen, the king before Fereydon and Cyrus thought of destroying Fereydon and Cyrus under the influence of the dream they saw.. But the similarities don't end here, both Fereydon and Korosh are saved from being destroyed.
Similarity of Seppaco and Franks According to Herodotus, a lady named Seppaco (Spaco) brings up Cyrus, while Herodotus considered Sepako to mean a dog (ن.ک: Herodotus, book 1, paragraph 110). Interestingly, Fereydon's mother's name is Frank, which means lynx (Dehkhoda dictionary, under Frank). The meaning of both names is related to the animal, and it is not even unlikely that Herodotus did not understand the meaning of Sepako correctly due to the lack of necessary knowledge, and in fact, Sepako and Frank have the same meaning..
Arrangements outside the Shahnameh We know that the conquest of Babylon was one of the most important measures of Cyrus, and interestingly, if we examine other Iranian sources, the connection between Dahhak (Dragonhawk) we see with the city of Babylon. Fereydon won over Zahak and captured him and imprisoned him in Mount Damavand. However, the features mentioned about the first place of Zahhak in the Shahnameh are close to the geographical situation of Babylon. But in other sources, the word Babylon is mentioned directly. For example, the author of Majamal al-Tawarikh and Al-Qasas says about Dhahaq: Dahhak means funny. And the dragons said that the cause was the cause that was on the shoulder... and the "crown" was his ancestor, who was an Arab from the descendants of Avand and sat in the land of Babylon... (Total History and Stories, pg. 26). It is also said in Ibn Balkhi's Farsnameh: That's why you called him a dragon because he was magic and was brought up in Babylon and learned magic and one day disguised himself as a dragon. (Ibn Balkhi, 1374: P. 107). According to the ancient works found, the conquest of Babylon by Cyrus is one of the most important events of that era. The Cyrus cylinder, which is one of the most unique ancient artifacts in terms of content, refers to the conquest of this city by Cyrus and how he treated the people.. This is while, according to Xenophon's statement in Cyrus Name, Cyrus's conquest is a continuation of Cyrus' defensive action against the enemies who initially intended to attack. (ن.ک: Xenophon, book 3, section 3 and book 7, section 5).

The childhood stories of Fereydon and Koresh are basically the same: Frank, the mother of Fereydon, the same Sepako (blind nurse) Is. This name is found from the Scythian name of Pars, which means leopard/leopard (Known as the winged dog) have been. A leopard whose skin was the body of Darfash Kaviani Fereydon/Koresh. But in Avesta and Shahnameh of Azhi Dahak (Zahak, Astyages II) The grandfather of Fereydon/Koresh III was not. And this is true because this Cyrus the second is Tus Nozari, the general of Kikhosru/Kiaxar, who is a daughter of Astyages the first. (= The first crown prince, Fraort/Siavash) have been. It is natural that the similarity of the names has caused the news about Cyrus II and his descendant Cyrus III to be unified in the following centuries..
As in Xenophon's Korshnameh, these two great Kurshes in the history of Iran are one and the same, and the general is Kiaxar. (Ki Khosro, Hokhshetre) has been considered. Cyrus III of this Astyag II defeated the son of Ki Akhsaru and caused him to be killed, as in his national role Fereydon made the same deal with Azhi Dahak/Zahak. (Khandan = Ashur, Isaac) did.

Exactly, when I read the Shahnameh and the history of the life of Cyrus, my mind went to this similarity. In addition to this, one should also pay attention to his being Zulqarnain and another interesting issue is the companionship of Daniyal Nabi (ع) It is with Cyrus that even now his holy grave is in Susa, besides, Dhul-Qarnain has a very strange position in the Quran, it should be researched a lot.…
